Experience
Rick gained extensive experience in criminal defense matters through work at the public defender’s offices in Gainesville, Miami, and Fort Myers, as well as in private practice. He has been involved with thousands of criminal cases, including both misdemeanors and felonies. His experience ranges from drug possession and domestic violence cases to armed robbery and capital murder.
He has the knowledge and skill to handle every facet of a criminal case, including arraignment, bond hearing, plea negotiations, pre-trial conferences and motions, jury selection, trial, and sentencing.
Education
Rick was awarded a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Miami School Of Law in Coral Gables. He was named to the Dean’s List and awarded a scholarship based on his academic achievement. While completing his degree, he worked as research assistant to a leading criminal law attorney and professor. His legal writing skills won him a coveted slot on the Psychology, Public Policy and Law Journal, one of the law school’s prestigious law reviews.
Rick received a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, from the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he was awarded a Florida Bright Futures Scholarship and Florida Medallion Scholars Award.
